Now that we are home and I have had time to digest all of the wonderful moments of this past week, I just had to write and thank you for all you did.  When we first had the idea to celebrate Dad’s 90^th birthday and my 75^th at the same time, it just felt right.  We knew we didn’t want a big party but wanted to spend this time with our family.

The first things that had to be settled were when and where this would take place.  You kept after us until we made the decision to return to the place where we had spent the most family “get- togethers.” Good old Wild Dunes. Then you coordinated everyone’s calendars and helped arrange transportation and rooms for all 28 of us. We were all sad that our grandson, Pete, was the only one who couldn’t make the party. Then you surprised us by buying him airline tickets to fly down to Charleston. Now all 29 of us were together.

The house you found for dad and me to rent was perfect.  The two large tables in the dining area were large enough to seat us all, and the large living area and outdoor pool gave us room to spread out.

I loved all the events we planned, but my favorite was the big dinner we had downtown at High Cotton.  I don’t know how you managed to get the Charleston Trolley to come out to Wild Dunes to take us all to dinner, but that was the icing on the cake.  You definitely made it one of the best times of our lives.  Thank you so much!
